EVLT Procedure Kit

All the main disposable accessories required to perform EVLT are contained in a convenient single EVLT Procedure Kit. The content of the kit are as follows:

1) EVLT™ Laser Fiber
This is a 600 m laser fiber marked in two places near the distal end and these bands are used during the EVLT procedure for positioning the fiber within the vein and introducer sheath. The position of the bands has been matched to the introducer sheath provided and alternative sheaths must not be substituted. This special EVLT fiber is only available as part of the EVLT procedure kit.
2) Introducer Sheath
This is a 45 cm long 5Fr Internal diameter sheath with inner stiffener/dilator. The proximal end of the sheath contains a silicone seal to avoid fluid leakage and a side arm with tap to allow aspiration and/or flushing. As previously stated this sheath is matched to the EVLT laser fiber and must not be substituted.
3) Guide Wire
This is a 0.035" J-tip guide wire, It Is contained within a plastic holder and comes with an introducer used to guide it into the entry needle.
4) Entry Needle
This Is a 19 gauge percutaneous entry needle with base plate. It is used to gain entry to the Greater Saphenous Vein and allows the guide wire to pass into the vein It is matched to the size of the guide wire and should not be substituted.
5) Drape
This is a standard non-fenestrated square drape 90 cm x 90 cm, It is used under the leg to be treated. Further drapes may be required but are not included due to variation In the personal preference of the physician.

Other consumable Items not Included In the kit may be required to perform the EVLT procedure such as:
		• Disinfectant Solution • Sterile Gowns and   Additional Drapes • Disposable Scalpel • Gauze Pads • Pressure Stocking • Local anesthetic solution		• Sterile probe cover • Needles/syringes • Sterile Saline Solution • Compression Bandage • Sterile Adhesive Tape
